Paris Fashion Week continued last night with Anthony Vaccarello’s latest show for Saint Laurent.
It took place just below the Eiffel Tower at the Trocadero Fountain, the striking location where the house has shown for a few seasons now. The difference this time, however, was the addition of some bright white palm trees and a pool of water on the catwalk that the models strutted through.
Just as the sun had set and right after the daily Eiffel Tower light show began, the first model appeared on the catwalk, splashing her way down through the puddles.

And, while the setting was clearly spectacular, there was no overshadowing the collection itself, which was a more playful take on the glam rock feel that Saint Laurent has become synonymous with. Speaking backstage, the designer explained that he was reimagining the classics this season in the same way that the founder of the house was inspired by ’40s designs in the 1970s.
Gold platform heels, purple velvet blazers and leather hot pants were met with velvet and sequin leotards and a hefty helping of leopard print.

Plenty of A-list models splashed down the runway including Kaia Gerber, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Anja Rubick, Freja Beha Erichsen and Binx Walton – and there were also many famous faces on the front row. Watching on was Kate Moss, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Nicole Richie and even Lindsay Lohan.
